We have prepared this Privacy Policy to inform you about the processing of your personal data that we collect when you visit our website. Our data protection practices comply with the legal provisions of the


Swiss Federal Act of 25 September 2022 on Data Protection (FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The following Privacy Policy fulfils the duties to provide information in accordance with the FADP and GDPR as stated in Art. 19 et seqq. FADP and Art. 13 et seqq. GDPR, for instance.

You can generally use our website without requiring specific authentication. We only ask you for information that is required for providing certain optional personalised services you choose to use, such as answering questions, subscribing to our newsletter and making donations. This information could comprise details such as your name, address, email address and phone number. We do not collect any personal data that requires special protection within the meaning of Swiss data protection laws.

Please note that the majority of data transferred via the internet is unprotected at present. It cannot be ruled out that transferred data is read by unauthorised persons and even falsified.

We always ask your consent to the use of your data for any other purposes that are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Information about you that is collected by us?

We may collect and process the following information about you:

  • Information that you provide to us: This is information that you provide to us in the following situations:  
    • When you use our website and its contents (such as making a donation, subscribing to our newsletter or completing a contact form)

    • When you become an offline REDOG benefactor
       
  • Information about you collected by our website and other systems 
    • When you visit our website, third parties (analysis programs) collect certain information about you and your visit, such as browser type and version and the pages of our website accessed by you. We do not collect the internet protocol (IP) address used for connecting your device to the internet. You can ask Google for an export of your data.
    • Our website may also store cookies on your device as described in our Cookies Policy (see below).
    • Our IT systems collect marginal data and sometimes also contents of your communication with us when you contact our employees via email, phone or other electronic means.
  • Information collected by third-party providers when you interact on our website: This is information about you that you transfer to third-party providers (such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube or Instagram) when you use social media interfaces or widgets on our website. 
     
  • Information collected by third-party providers when you visit our website: This is information about you that is collected and/or tracked by third-party providers when you visit our website only, i.e. when you navigate from one page to another or watch an embedded YouTube video.

Using your personal data

We may use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • In order to forward your alert to the REDOG search and rescue dog team leaders. Your contact details are stored for statistical purposes.
  • In order to send you updates and information via email (e.g. newsletters), SMS, post or telephone.
  • In order to forward your enquiry about training to become a search and rescue dog team member to the responsible trainers in the regional groups.
  • REDOG reserves the right to use your contact details for specific future donation campaigns.
  • If you make a donation in the event of a bereavement, your details are forwarded to the next of kin of the deceased.
  • If you request information as a member of the press, we store your contact details as a future press contact.

We only process your personal data if this is necessary for the above purposes.

In exceptional circumstances, we may be obliged by law to disclose or otherwise process your personal data. We will inform you should this be the case. If you are unsure about the purpose for which REDOG requires your data, please contact the employee who has requested the information or get in touch with us directly. Transfer of personal data to third parties

REDOG does not transfer personal data to third parties, unless this is required by law or ordered by a judge of the court. This does not apply to the transfer to third parties for 

a) the legal protection of users; 

b) the fulfilment of legal requirements;

c) defending and protecting the rights of REDOG;

d) compliance with the terms and conditions of use or data protection regulations;

e) the rectification of technical issues affecting the products;

f) cooperations with service providers that require the transfer of data for the processing of orders. In these cases, the transfer of data is restricted to the minimum required for the fulfilment of the order. Particularly in connection with the contractual performance of donations, the data provided by you is transferred to the respective payment service provider for the purpose of processing your payment (credit card data, Twint, PayPal, PostFinance, paying-in slip) insofar as necessary for processing the donation.

Raise Now – donation technology

We use the donation technology of RaiseNow AG, Hardturmstr. 101, 8005 Zurich, on our website. You can read their Privacy Policy here: https://www.raisenow.com/ch-de/datenschutz. RaiseNow collects the personal and payment-related data as well as communication preferences on the basis of our interests in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. b) GDPR and a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 (3) S. 1 GDPR. RaiseNow AG, Switzerland, and RaiseNow GmbH, Germany, meet all of the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Switzerland is classed as a secure third country that has been confirmed as having adequate data protection standards in an adequacy decision by the European Commission. This includes, for instance, data processing security, which is regularly audited and certified at RaiseNow AG by TÜV SÜD on the basis of the PCI-DSS SAQ D Level 2 security standard (https://developer.raisenow.com/docs/pci-dss/Certificate-of-Validation_en.pdf). RaiseNow may use the collected data in anonymised form, in other words without allocation to a benefactor, for optimising or improving its own services, but not for contacting benefactors directly or for transferring data to third parties.

Newsletter – Subscription

If you subscribe to our newsletter with your email address, title, surname and forename (mandatory), we store and use your data exclusively for sending you our newsletters until you unsubscribe from this service.

If you want us to remove your data from the mailing list, click on “Unsubscribe” at the end of any email or contact us as described.

Operating and server log data

We host our website with Hausformat GmbH, Rohrerstrasse 18, 5000 Aarau, Switzerland. The provider (or your webspace provider respectively) collects data about each website access (so-called server log files). This access data includes: Name of the accessed website, file, date and time of access, transferred data volume, notification of successful access, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL (previously visited website) and requesting provider. The provider uses the protocol data exclusively for statistical analyses for the purpose of operating, ensuring the security of, and optimising the website and its contents.

However, the provider reserves the right to subsequently audit the protocol data if there is credible evidence of a justified suspicion of illegal use. Legal bases in accordance with the GDPR: Art. 9 (1) lit. f. Legitimate interest: information security.

Storage and erasure of your data

REDOG endeavours to keep your personal data accurate and up to date. Information about you is deleted once it is no longer required.

Your rights

In accordance with Swiss data protection laws, you have the right to request information about your personal data that we have stored as well as other related information.

  • You may also request for inaccurate personal data to be corrected or erased.
  • You can withdraw your consent to our use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes at any time and have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in whole or part thereof (and request its erasure).

Security measures

We have implemented suitable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss or any form of illegitimate processing. Our donation pages are secured with a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a security protocol for online communications. This makes it more difficult or impossible to access, manipulate or falsify messages. Personal data is transferred online in encrypted form via the HTTPS protocol. 

Only employees who require to access your information for performing their tasks gain access to your personal data.

Websites and apps of other providers that can be accessed via this website are not covered by this Privacy Policy. REDOG does not assume any responsibility or liability for data protection compliance by third-party websites and apps.

We aim to determine how our website contents are used. In May 2018, Google Analytics introduced the Data Retention Controls policy for the storage of data. Organisations can use it to determine the period after which Google Analytics automatically deletes the stored user and event data.

Such storage periods apply to user and event data originating from cookies, user identification (such as User ID) or advertising identifiers (not applicable on the REDOG website). REDOG’s Google Analytics storage period has been set at 38 months. Again, Google Analytics dies not collect the internet protocol (IP) address of the device that is connected to the internet.

Use of social media buttons and widgets

We embed Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platform widgets on our website to improve the user experience.

These social media widgets originate from web servers that can track your behaviour on our website an combine it with other information about you that comes from other websites. You can install browser add-ons such as Privacy Badger for Chrome and Firefox to manage or deactivate these widgets.

REDOG reserves the right to review, amend or otherwise supplement this Privacy Policy at any time. REDOG will publish any amendments made immediately on this website.

Governing law and place of jurisdiction

All legal relationships between REDOG and users are governed by Swiss substantive law. Stettlen, the location of REDOG's head office, is the sole place of jurisdiction for disputes arising from this Privacy Policy, subject to differing mandatory places of jurisdiction.

Severability clause

Should individual provisions of this Privacy Policy be or become ineffective, this shall not affect the effectiveness of the remaining provisions. The ineffective provision shall be replaced with a new provision that comes closest in meaning to the economic and legal purpose of the ineffective provision.
